our life aqui

sooo, just a bit about our day-to-day life here since peeps have asked.

our class is five days a week (we had previously thought we had fridays off - finding out we didnt kinda put a cramp on our weekend plans, but i suppose the whole learning thing is the original reason for our trip).  so we seem to be sleeping an obscene amount, and for the time being we would like to blame it on the intense jetlag, haha…  But truth be told, we all know how rosie can never get out of bed - i think that has rubbed off on me - shame on her!

so we roll out of bed late for class every day, eat the breakfast that our host makes us, which has been either eggs or pancakes at this point, and run off to class.  Our house is in an area called Gazcue which is about a half an hour walk for us (although i will say that we walk very slowly, with rosies foot, my blisters on my feet, and my whining about how hot it is).  Class starts at 8:30 and goes until 12:30, with the first half being grammar and the second being conversation.  My level is for special people - and let me tell you, i have some of them in my class - and rosies is advanced.  Our host cooks us breakfast and dinner, so we are on our own for lunch.  We have tried a few places, but yesterday realized how much we were craving some kind of vegetable (which are not exactly offered in our household), so we went to the store and made our own lunch today, yay!

we have gone out to a few bars, which has been really fun.  We met some people the other night who took us to a club that was downtown, which is much more developed than the “colonial zone” that we are in, and that was craziness.  Tonse of people, dressed to the nine, grinding on the dance-floor.  The colonial zone has much more tame places, although we just got word of a club that charges girls $3 to get in on thursdays, and that includes free drinks all night - sounds like mayhem to us (and of course something rosie and i wouldnt be intersted in at all)

alrighty, peace out
